Who is Lydia Bischoff? Updated 6/08

So, you want to know about me, eh? Hmm… what should I tell you?

You can find out quite a bit about me on our website, as well as reading through this blog.
I’ve also updated this list of random things you may or may not know about me:

1. I LOVE the cold! (Call me the Snow Miser if you like!)winter morning
2. I love snow!
3. I dream of living in a log cabin with a Malamute outside
4. I live in Latvia right now (Baltic Europe)
5. I HATE pink!
6. I have been to 20 countries (I don’t count just airports). (I can’t wait to hit 25!)
7. I dream of taking a cruise to Antarctica
8. I’d love to take a hot-air baloon ride
9. I want to be brave enough to ride on a bobsled & snowboard
10. I’m studying my 5th language, though I only consider myself able to speak 2 to any degree.
11. I hate the heat and seriously struggle breathing in it.
12. I can crochet
13. I’m SERIOUSLY addicted to scrapbooking (I’d be a consulantant if I lived in the US)
14. I love Dr Pepper
15. I started drinking when I was 33
16. I have a love/hate relationship with cheese. I love it on pizza, but hate cheese-burgers.
17. Became engaged to my husband only 4 days after we met
18. I can’t swim or iceskate
19. I hate driving in the city
20. I hate peas and beans of any kind (save green beans)
21. My nose is piercedMy best friends all in a line...
22. I love books and movies
23. My 2 best friends in Latvia are 14-15 years younger than I am
24. I’m a foreign missionary
25. I love missions mobilization
26. I’m a tornado-phobic but I LOVE to watch Storm Stories on the Weather Channel!
27. I hate to eat fish unless it’s fish sticks (though Baracuda was surprisingly good.)
28. I’m a wanna-be author
29. I LOVE Christmas
30. I was in a beauty pageant when I was 4. I didn’t win… I think I lost it when I jumped off the picnic table to show that I could get down without help.
31. I teach ESL (English as a Second Language) though I failed English in high school.
32. I HATE talking on the phone
33. When in America, I love watching Survivor, Amazing Race & 24
34. I love packing - anything - suitcases, moving boxes, packages to mail… just finding that way to make everything fit the best.
35. I have spent most of my married life (nearly 15 years now) living overseasMe & Chris at Kolka cape
36. I believe bacon should be it’s own food group with a minimum daily requirement
37. I journal almost every day
38. I have a morning “Internet Routine”
39. I struggle getting out of bed without light (which is bad in northern Europe in the winter)- but I can stay up forever
40. I love working with finances (budgeting and such) but hate working with actual money (I worked at a bank and hated it!)

    - I am apparently able to get my point across in most languages I have heard of. How in the world that happened…. I have no idea.

    - join the club. except… that I have no friends in Latvia… That I’ve actually met in person…

    -I’m tornado phobic but I don’t have the good sense to get the heck out of Dodge when one is coming. They fascinate me.

    -oooooOOOooooh. Baracuda! Try Macarel. Not smoked. If you’re not a fish fan, it will turn you off. Fry it up like fish sticks. Excellent. Shark has no bones. Very tasty. Don’t order it in a land-locked country though. Infact, don’t order fish that has not been in it’s home the previous night if you’re not a fish lover.
